Admin | Use the Doc widget in Approval

2 min read
I. Intro
🔖
Who can perform these steps: Primary administrators or administrators with "Approval" permission.
The Doc widget is one of the widgets available in Feishu Approval, which the administrator can add in the Attendance admin console. For approvals with the Doc widget, the member can upload documents when submitting the approval, and the approvers can read these Docs online and add comments.
II. Steps
  1. Go to the Attendance admin console > Approval Admin and do either of the following:
  • Click New to create a new approval.
  • Click Edit to the right of an existing approval to edit its setting.
  • 250px|700px|reset
  1. Go to Form Design, click or drag the Document widget into the form, and set the form field title, whether it can be printed, and whether it is required on the right pane.
  • Note: You can only add one Document widget to a single approval form.
  • 250px|700px|reset
  1. Go to Process Design and click a step to bring up its details pane, where you can set the document permissions for that step in the Form Permissions tab.
  • Read: Whether the members who handle this step (such as approvers, cc recipients, and so on) are allowed to read the document. If not selected, they will not be able to read the document.
  • Edit: Determine whether the members who handle this step (such as approvers, cc recipients, and so on) are allowed to edit the document. If not selected, they will not be able to edit the document.

  1. Complete other settings as needed, and click Publish in the upper-right corner.
Then, when members submit a request for this approval process, they can click Select Docs to add documents they can read.

Notice: If a document is added to an approval, its owner will be updated to Feishu Approval.
  • If the member is the owner of the document, they can choose whether to initiate the approval using a copy of the document.
  • If a member is not the owner of the document, they can only initiate the approval using a copy of the document.
