Use links in Sheets

I. Intro
You can insert links in the cells of a spreadsheet to redirect team members to a specific cell, cell range, spreadsheet, or webpage.
II. Steps
  1. Insert a link
Open the spreadsheet and select the cell where you want to insert the link. Click Insert in the top toolbar, select Link, and fill out the Text and Link fields based on your needs.
  • Text: The link text that will be displayed in the cell.
  • Link: The link to the corresponding cell, cell range, spreadsheet, or webpage.

1.1 Link to a sheet in the current spreadsheet
In the Link field, select Link to sheet, and select the sheet. The name of the selected sheet will be used as the link text, which can be edited as needed. Once you're done, click Confirm.

1.2 Link to a cell in the current spreadsheet
In the Link field, click Link to cells and select the cell range. Enter the link text and click Confirm.

1.3 Link to other spreadsheets or webpages
Obtain the link to the cell, cell range, or sheet in the spreadsheet you want to link to, then paste the link into the Link field. Edit the link text and click Confirm.
  • To obtain the link to a cell or cell range: Open the spreadsheet that contains the cell or cell range you want to link, select the cell or cell range. Right-click, then select Copy Link to Range.

  • To obtain the link to a sheet: Open the sheet in your browser and copy the link in the browser's address bar.
To link to a webpage, paste the webpage link into the Link field. Edit the link text and click Confirm.

  1. Edit and remove links
Hover over the link, then select the Edit link or Remove Link icon on the right side of the toolbar.

III. FAQs
How can I link cells or cell ranges in other people's spreadsheet to my spreadsheet?
Obtain the link of the corresponding cell or cell range, then paste the link into your own spreadsheet.
